Soccer Recap: Woonsocket Takes a Loss

After flying high against Middletown on Saturday, Woonsocket came back down to earth. The Villa Novans lost 3-0 to the Cranston East Thunderbolts on Monday. The contest was up for grabs at halftime, but sadly Woonsocket struggled afterwards.

Woonsocket's loss dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Cranston East, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-4-1.

Looking ahead, Woonsocket will challenge Tiverton at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Woonsocket will be up against Tiverton's rather soft defense (which has allowed 3.86 goals per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Cranston East, they will take on Ponaganset at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
