Baseball Game Preview: Jones Trojans vs. Sinton Pirates

Jones is 2-8 against Sinton since March of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. Jones will head out to take on Sinton at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Jones headed into their last contest having not scored more than two runs for three straight, but Rockport-Fulton let them put that streak behind them. Jones blew past Rockport-Fulton 10-0 on Friday. The Trojans not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 16, 2024.

Not much got past Tyler Lang, who gave up just two hits to keep Rockport-Fulton off the board. What's more, Lang posted five strikeouts, the most he's had over his last five games.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on BJ Rivas, who scored three runs while going 2-for-4. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024.

Meanwhile, Sinton had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.4 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Saturday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Brahmas.

Sinton saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Keldon Kemp, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

The win snapped Jones' losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-9-1 record. As for Sinton, their victory bumped their record up to 11-5-1.

Jones couldn't quite finish off Sinton in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 and fell 3-1. Can Jones avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
