Newsome has gone 7-2 against East Bay recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. Newsome will venture away from home to face off against East Bay at 7:00 p.m. Newsome is coming into the game hot, having won their last nine games.
Last Thursday, Newsome earned a 4-1 win over Durant.
Allyson Conner spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Arriana N Williams and Sarai Nicholas did most of the damage at the plate: Williams went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one double, while Nicholas scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. That's the most RBI Williams has posted since back in March of 2024. Addison Dresser was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, East Bay got the win against Lennard on Monday by a conclusive 18-2. The Indians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by eight runs or more this season.
Jensen Nelson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Nelson was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while going 4-for-4.
In other batting news, Molly Johnson was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 4-for-4. Jessalyn Lugo also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
East Bay kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive matchups.
Newsome pushed their record up to 12-3 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for East Bay, their record now sits at 7-8.
Everything went Newsome's way against East Bay in their previous matchup back in April of 2023, as Newsome made off with a 10-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Newsome since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
