Baseball Recap: Anderson County Makes It Four in a Row at Home

Anderson County got themselves on the board against King's Academy on Friday, but King's Academy never followed suit. They came out on top against the Lions by a score of 5-0. This was payback for the Mavericks, who suffered an 11-3 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Not much got past Wil Ridenour, who gave up just two hits to keep King's Academy off the board. Furthermore, Ridenour didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, Anderson County saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alex Bond, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that Bond brought in this season. Another was Easton Beaty, who scored two runs and stole a base.

Anderson County pushed their record up to 4-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for King's Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.

Anderson County will hit the road for the first time this season to square off against Seymour at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Anderson County's pitchers better be ready for this one: Seymour has averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season. As for King's Academy, they will host Grace Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
