Baseball Recap: Mission Viejo Takes a Loss

Mission Viejo fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Dana Hills on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 7-3 to the Dana Hills Dolphins. The Diablos were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Dolphins apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Joey Pallone was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with one double and one RBI. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (three). Jacob Powley was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Mission Viejo has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season. Dana Hills picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 2-7.

Mission Viejo wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, an 8-7 win against Capistrano Valley Christian on the 19th. As for Dana Hills, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 12-6 victory against Whittier Christian on the 19th.
