Maine West is 9-1 against Maine East since March of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Warriors will head out to face off against the Blue Demons at 6:00 p.m.

On Tuesday, Maine West didn't have quite enough to beat Vernon Hills and fell 2-1.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Maine West sadly wound up on the wrong side. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 22-25, 25-12.

Meanwhile, Maine East played in-conference for the first time on Tuesday and got just the result they were looking for. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over Highland Park. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Blue Demons.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Maine East was: they took both sets by at least 11 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-10.

Maine East's win bumped their record up to 7-20. As for Maine West, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season.

Maine West came out on top in a nail-biter against Maine East in their previous matchup back in September, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
