The Grand Terrace Titans will head out on the road to challenge the Eisenhower Eagles at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Grand Terrace's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Eisenhower's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Grand Terrace can't be too worried about heading out to take on Eisenhower: they just beat Rialto at home, who had been dominant on their own field up to that point. The Titans walked away with a 5-1 win over the Knights on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Titans.
Colton Caldwell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on six hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jesse Medina, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Ezekiel Jahen, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Eisenhower). They blew past Colton 11-3 on Friday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Eagles with their most commanding win of the season.
Eisenhower also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and he was also dialed-in: Viggo Sahagun gave up just two earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits and racked up seven Ks.
On the hitting side, Joshua Aguilar was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Eisenhower is 4-1 when Aguilar posts two or more runs, but 7-11 otherwise. Brian Martinez was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.
Eisenhower was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .464. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Grand Terrace's record is now 13-11. As for Eisenhower, their record now sits at 11-12.
Grand Terrace beat Eisenhower 11-6 when the teams last played back in March of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Titans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
