Izaiah Matthews Game Report: vs Kettle Run

On Wednesday Izaiah Matthews didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. The effort marked the fewest hits Matthews has had since back in May of 2024. As if that's not impressive enough, the pitching appearance was his third in a row with less than one earned run. On the season, he has been strong no matter where he plays. On the mound, he has an ERA of .37 over 19 innings pitched. Meanwhile, at bat he has slashed 0.500/0.613/0.750 with 8 RBI.

Coming up, Matthews and Skyline will head out to take on Sherando at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hawks will be headed into this one with a sizable disadvantage in the rankings (they're ranked 66 places lower in Virginia), but they're not letting that get them down.
