Baseball Recap: Benedictine Takes a Loss

Benedictine suffered their closest loss since May 8, 2024 on Wednesday. They fell just short of the St. Edward Eagles by a score of 5-3. The Bengals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2023.

Benedictine now has a losing record of 5-6. As for St. Edward, they pushed their record up to 7-8 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Benedictine will host Strongsville at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bengals 3.5, the Mustangs 2.4) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for St. Edward, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Cardinal Mooney at 5:00 p.m. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cardinals have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season.
