Baseball Recap: Antioch Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Antioch had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They never let the De La Salle Meteors get on the board and left with a 4-0 win. For the Sequoits, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 victory the Meteors walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

Antioch got a great performance from Teagan Mogle as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched.

At the plate, Evan Schmidt was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. Tyler Johnson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one double, and one RBI.

Antioch's record is now 10-5-1. As for De La Salle, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Antioch will challenge Grant Community at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for De La Salle, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Chicago Mt. Carmel at 4:30 p.m.
