Softball Recap: East Carteret Takes a Loss

Pisgah hit East Carteret with a four-run fifth inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Mariners took an 11-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bears. The Mariners' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Grayson Gillikin made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Emmie Gillikin, who went 2-for-4 with one triple.

East Carteret's loss dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Pisgah, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-3.

Coming up, East Carteret will challenge North Myrtle Beach at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Pisgah, they will venture away from home to face off against West Henderson at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
