Basketball Recap: Marlboro Central Comes Up Short

Marlboro Central and Ardsley squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Marlboro Central had to settle for second. They were dealt a 76-40 defeat at the hands of the Ardsley Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Dukes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 306th, while the Panthers are ranked 27th).

Iva Corluka was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 27 points and 19 rebounds for Ardsley. That makes it three consecutive games in which Corluka has scored at least a third of Ardsley's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Leah Burriss, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 14 boards.

Marlboro Central's loss dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Ardsley, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 20-3.

Marlboro Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Ardsley, they have already played their next game, a 51-20 victory against Johnson City on the 16th.
