Baseball Game Preview: Sale Creek Panthers vs. Tyner Academy Rams

Sale Creek has gone a perfect 10-0 against Tyner Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Sale Creek Panthers will welcome the Tyner Academy Rams at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Sale Creek has four straight victories, Tyner Academy has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Thursday, Sale Creek made easy work of Tyner Academy and carried off a 20-2 win.

Gabriel Abbott looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March of 2024.

On the hitting side, Sale Creek let Jackson McClendon and Maverick McCary run wild. McClendon went 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and one double, while McCary scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave McClendon a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Dylan Cunningham, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Sale Creek always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .619. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tyner Academy only posted an OBP of .455.

Sale Creek pushed their record up to 3-0 with the victory, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Tyner Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
