Softball Recap: Mercy Find Success

Mercy came out on top against Fern Creek on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run third inning. The Jaguars took their contest against the Tigers 6-2. The win continues a trend for the Jaguars in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won five in a row.

The team relied heavily on Ava Reinhart, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Allie Streble, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

Mercy's victory bumped their record up to 14-11. As for Fern Creek, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-13.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mercy will venture away from home to face off against DuPont Manual at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Fern Creek, they will head out to take on Bullitt East at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
