Basketball Recap: Edgewood-Colesburg Comes Up Short

Edgewood-Colesburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 51-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Alburnett Pirates. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 291st, while the Pirates are ranked 92nd).

Edgewood-Colesburg's loss dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Alburnett, they have been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 15 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season.

Coming up, Edgewood-Colesburg will face off against Maquoketa Valley on Monday. Maquoketa Valley will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Edgewood-Colesburg surely won't give up without a fight. Alburnett does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
