Baseball Recap: Cobre Comes Up Short

Cobre blew Hatch Valley out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Saturday Hatch Valley got their revenge. The Indians fell just short of the Bears by a score of 5-3. The Indians were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bears earlier this season, when they won 14-4.

Zayden Jimenez and Aaron Harrington did some serious damage despite the final result: Jimenez went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double, while Harrington got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one double. Julian Perez also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Cobre and nudges their season record down to 16-9. Even worse, they were so close both times: the defeats came by an average of only two runs. As for Hatch Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-13 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Hatch Valley beat Cobre by a score of 7-6 later that day.
