Softball Recap: Cheyenne Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Cheyenne had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They put the hurt on the Valley Vikings with a sharp 27-5 win on Wednesday. That's more bragging rights for the Desert Shields, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

This is the second loss in a row for Valley and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cheyenne will square off against Sunrise Mountain at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against Del Sol at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. The contest will give Del Sol their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season.
