Baseball Game Preview: Mission Viejo Diablos vs. San Juan Hills Stallions

For the second straight game, Mission Viejo will face off against San Juan Hills. The Diablos will take on the Stallions at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday.

Mission Viejo took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past San Juan Hills 5-4. The win was some much needed relief for the Diablos as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Wyatt Dunlap tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.

On the hitting side, Mission Viejo's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Logan Marsee, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI. Joey Pallone also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

San Juan Hills is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-12. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only 1.25 runs. As for Mission Viejo, their win bumped their record up to 12-14.
