Football Recap: Dynamic Duo of Benjamin Everett and Jayden Butler Lead Apex Friendship to Victory

Apex Friendship put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They took down the Southern Lee Cavaliers 40-21. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Patriots' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 79th, while the Cavaliers are ranked 285th).

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Jayden Butler and Benjamin Everett. Butler rushed for 91 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries while Everett rushed for 105 yards and one TD on only 11 carries. Those 105 rushing yards gave Everett a new career-high.

Apex Friendship's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Southern Lee, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Apex Friendship wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 31-0 win against Holly Springs on the 12th. As for Southern Lee, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Western Harnett at 7:00 p.m. on the 19th. This will be the Cavaliers' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
