Basketball Recap: Hicks' Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

Hicks needed a changed in momentum after dropping four straight games and they got it from Jayde Wilbanks. The Pirates took down the Many Tigers 54-40 on Thursday thanks in part to Wilbanks, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 14 rebounds. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Another player making a difference was Kaydence Hickman, who went 6-for-10 to rack up 15 points and seven steals. Hicks is 2-1 when Hickman posts five or more steals, but 4-8 otherwise.

Hicks' victory bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Many, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hicks will welcome Oak Hill at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Pirates' defense better be ready for this one: the Rams have averaged an impressive 53.6 points per game this season. As for Many, they will host Pleasant Hill at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
