Baseball Recap: McArthur Mustangs vs. Fort Lauderdale Flying L's

There's no place like home for McArthur, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They won by a run and slipped past the Fort Lauderdale Flying L 5-4. That result was just more of the same for these two, as McArthur also won the last time the pair played back in February.

Eliecer Rodriguez tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up four earned runs off four hits. Garvey Person picked up the save, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (he also didn't allow any walks).

On the hitting side, Tyler Smith was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Dylan Dess, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two RBI.

McArthur has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Fort Lauderdale, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-9.

McArthur will be playing at home against Chaminade-Madonna at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Fort Lauderdale, they will head out on the road to face off against Coral Glades at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
