Basketball Recap: Lafayette's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Lafayette had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. They came out on top against the Poquoson Islanders by a score of 58-47. This was a revenge game for the Rams: when they faced off against the Islanders back in January, they had to take a 51-47 defeat.

Lafayette's win bumped their record up to 14-6. As for Poquoson, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season.

Coming up, Lafayette won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Bruton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lafayette knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Bruton likes a good challenge. As for Poquoson, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll challenge New Kent at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
