Baseball Recap: Houston Math Science & Tech Beats Fort Bend Kempner for Their Third Straight Victory

While Houston Math Science & Tech's win against Fort Bend Kempner wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Houston Math Science & Tech Tigers won by a run and slipped past the Fort Bend Kempner Cougars 8-7. While the Tigers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-11), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Jaden Gonzalez made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That one hit allowed gave him a new career-low. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing Three bases. while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs.

In other batting news, Daniel Galacia was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI. Ryan Cervantes also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

The victory was the third in a row for Houston Math Science & Tech, bringing their record for this year to 5-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Fort Bend Kempner, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5-1.

Coming up, Houston Math Science & Tech will head out on the road to challenge Fort Bend Bush at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Houston Math Science & Tech is facing Fort Bend Bush at the right time seeing as Fort Bend Bush is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Fort Bend Kempner, they will be taking part in a tournament against Benjamin Davis at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
