Baseball Recap: Picayune Has No Trouble Against Pass Christian

Picayune never let their opponents score on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Pass Christian Pirates as the Picayune Maroon Tide made off with a 13-0 win. That 13 run margin sets a new team best for the Maroon Tide this season.

Parker Helton was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Brunson Stockstill was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-1.

Picayune was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .355 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Picayune's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-0. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Pass Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Picayune will take on St. Patrick at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pass Christian, they will challenge Forrest County Agricultural at 1:00 p.m. on March 1st.
