Recap: Tintic Miners vs. Wendover Wildcats
The Tintic Miners's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by Wendover 54-20. While losing is never fun, Tintic can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 123rd, while Wendover is ranked 11th).
Wendover found their leader in underclassman Millie Hicks, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 18 rebounds. The game was Hicks' fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Paulina Gomez, who scored 12 points.
Tintic's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Wendover, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.
Tintic will head out on the road to face off against Maeser Prep Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Wendover will be home for the holidays to greet Wells at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Wells is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
