Football Game Preview: Mitchell County Eagles vs. Terrell County Greenwave

Mitchell County is 8-2 against Terrell County since September of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Eagles will look to defend their home field against the Greenwave at 7:30 p.m. Mitchell County will be strutting in after a victory while Terrell County will be coming in after a defeat.

Two weeks ago, Mitchell County needed a bit of extra time to put away Randolph-Clay. They secured a 40-34 W over the Red Devils. The Eagles' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Darrius Robinson went supernova, picking up 220 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Those 220 receiving yards gave him a new career-high. Khalil Murray was another key player, rushing for 72 yards and one TD.

Meanwhile, Terrell County fell victim to Miller County and their airtight defense on Friday. They took a blow against the Pirates, falling 28-0. The loss continues a trend for the Greenwave in their meetings with the Pirates: they've now lost three in a row.

Terrell County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Mitchell County, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Everything came up roses for Mitchell County against Terrell County in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 40-6 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Greenwave's Monterius Lee, who rushed for 132 yards and one score on only 14 carries.
