Volleyball Game Preview: Grain Valley Eagles vs. Belton Pirates

The Grain Valley Eagles will venture away from home to face off against the Belton Pirates at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Grain Valley is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Oak Park just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 3-1 to the Northmen.

The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-22, 24-26, 25-22.

Meanwhile, Belton entered their tilt with Winnetonka on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Griffins 3-0.

While Belton won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-14, 25-22.

Belton pushed their record up to 15-11-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Grain Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 14-7-1.

Grain Valley took their win against Belton in their previous matchup on April 3rd by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
