Baseball Recap: San Clemente's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

San Clemente came into Friday's matchup having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Murrieta Valley Nighthawks a 14-0 shutout on Friday. Considering the Tritons have won four contests by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Kaden Raymond, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February. Cade Cerone was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Raymond wasn't the only one working in the hit department: San Clemente kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. San Clemente is 3-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

San Clemente's victory bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Murrieta Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. San Clemente will venture away from home to take on Douglas at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Murrieta Valley, they will head out to face off against Yorba Linda at 3:00 p.m. on Monday.
