Basketball Recap: Pisgah Comes Up Short

Pisgah was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were dealt an 86-59 loss at the hands of the Franklin Panthers. The Bears were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-26.

Max McClure was his usual excellent self, going 9 of 13 on his way to 29 points and seven rebounds for Franklin. That makes it three consecutive games in which McClure has scored at least a third of Franklin's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Jack Teesateskie, who went 7 of 13 on his way to 18 points.

Pisgah's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Franklin, they pushed their record up to 8-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pisgah will welcome West Henderson at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Pisgah's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Franklin, they will host North Henderson at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. North Henderson knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 contests -- so hopefully Franklin likes a good challenge.
