Football Game Preview: Washington-Liberty Generals vs. Westfield Bulldogs + How To Watch

Washington-Liberty is 1-6 against Westfield since September of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Generals will challenge the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m.

Washington-Liberty had taken Langley down for four straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Friday. The Generals were beaten by the Saxons 42-7. The game marked the Generals' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Westfield). They claimed a resounding 40-13 victory over South Lakes. The game was the first time the Bulldogs have beaten the Seahawks on their field since November 22, 2019.

Westfield's win came from a few key players Washington-Liberty will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Ryan Carlson, who threw for 180 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also punched in one score on the ground. What's more, he racked up 114.6 passer rating, the most he's had since back in September. Malachi Lee was in the mix too, providing Westfield with two TDs.

Westfield was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 251 rushing yards. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 96.3 rushing yards per game earlier this season, but in their last five contests they've averaged 169.

The win made it two in a row for Westfield and bumps their season record up to 7-3. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 27 points in those games. As for Washington-Liberty, the loss was their first at home , dropping their record down to 7-3.

Washington-Liberty barely slipped by Westfield in their previous matchup back in September, winning 14-13. Do the Generals have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
