Football Game Preview: Red Springs Red Devils vs. Fairmont Golden Tornadoes

The Red Springs Red Devils will take on the Fairmont Golden Tornadoes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Things were looking good for Red Springs after they put the first points on the board on Friday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell 33-28 to Whiteville. While the Red Devils didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Wolfpack 7-0 in the first quarter.

Red Springs' loss came about despite a quality game from Chase Boone, who threw for 239 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also punched in one TD on the ground. Bryan McCollum was in the mix as well, providing the Red Devils with one score.

Meanwhile, Fairmont lost to South Brunswick on the road by a 35-18 margin on Friday. The Golden Tornadoes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Red Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Fairmont, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.

Red Springs beat Fairmont 33-20 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Will the Red Devils repeat their success, or do the Golden Tornadoes have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
