Basketball Recap: Oak Hall Comes Up Short

Oak Hall lost against Saint Francis Catholic back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Oak Hall Eagles were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 45-44 to the Saint Francis Catholic Wolves. That's two games in a row now that the Eagles have lost by just one point.

Saint Francis Catholic's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Liam Banks, who went 5 for 9 on his way to 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonah Powers, who posted 11 points and five boards.

Oak Hall's defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Saint Francis Catholic, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Oak Hall will head out to square off against Interlachen at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Saint Francis Catholic, they are taking a road trip to face off against Riverside Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Saint Francis Catholic will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
