Softball Recap: Camden County Bruins vs. Martin County Knights        
        
		
            
 Camden County and Martin County squared off in some playoff action  on Friday, but Camden County had to settle for second. They took  a  6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Martin County Knights. It was the first time  this season that Camden County let down their fans at home.
  Emma Young made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  scored two  runs and  stole a base while  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances.
 On Martin County's side,  Peyton Lane spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered  just two earned  (and one unearned) runs on seven hits. Lane has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  pitched less than five  innings in five consecutive pitching appearances.
 On the hitting side,  Erica Sturgill was  incredible,  going 1-for-4 with a  home run and four  RBI.  Izzy Williams was another key contributor,  scoring a  run while going 2-for-4.
 Camden County's loss  ended  an  11-game streak of wins at home  and  dropped them to 20-3. As for Martin County, the  victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 25-2.
 Camden County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Martin County, they will head out on the road to  take on  Midway at 6:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Both teams have allowed few  runs on average, (Midway: 2.5, Martin County: 1) so any  runs scored will be well earned.
