There's no place like home for Clayton, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. Everything went their way against the Penasco Panthers on Friday as Clayton made off with a 12-3 victory. The Yellowjackets haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Daniel Manquero made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over 4.2 innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in earned runs (zero). He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Clayton got a massive performance out of Brody Oulette, who scored four runs and stole six bases while going 2-for-3. Those stolen bases marked the first that Oulette snagged this season. Max Leal was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3.

Clayton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .690. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .556 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

The victory got Clayton back to even at 2-2. As for Penasco, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Clayton beat Penasco by a score of 22-1 later that day.
