Basketball Game Preview: Panther Creek Panthers vs. Madison Trojans

The Panther Creek Panthers and the Madison Trojans will round out the year against one another at at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Madison is hoping to do what Sanger couldn't on Friday: put an end to Panther Creek's winning streak, which now stands at three games. Panther Creek strolled past Sanger with points to spare, taking the game 71-56.

Panther Creek's success was spearheaded by the efforts of SABIEN MCGRAW, who went 5 of 10 en route to 14 points along with five assists and five boards, and RODNEY WAGNER, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of XAVIER RAINWATER, who posted eight points.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Panther Creek was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in November of 2023.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Madison). They blew past Young Men's Leadership Academy 86-48 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Trojans have posted since February 13th.

Madison is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.0 points per game. As for Panther Creek, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-7.
