Volleyball Recap: Carrboro Falls to Falls Lake in First Game of Season

Carrboro had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Falls Lake Firebirds by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Jaguars were not able to make up for their defeat to the Firebirds from their previous meeting back in August of 2024.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Carrboro sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-17, 21-25, 30-28, 23-25, 15-8.

Carrboro lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Caroline Butler, who had seven digs and two aces. Another player making a difference was Hayley Royal, who had 13 digs and three aces.

Falls Lake has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Carrboro didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Southern Alamance on the 15th. As for Falls Lake, they will host Wakefield at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
