Baseball Game Preview: Newburgh Free Academy Goldbacks vs. Monroe-Woodbury Crusaders

For the second straight game, Newburgh Free Academy will face off against Monroe-Woodbury. The Goldbacks will take on the Crusaders at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Newburgh Free Academy's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Monroe-Woodbury's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Newburgh Free Academy can't be too worried about heading out to take on Monroe-Woodbury: they just beat Monroe-Woodbury at home, who had been dominant on their own field up to that point. The Goldbacks blew past the Crusaders 8-2 on Thursday. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 11, 2023, but that streak is no more.

For Monroe-Woodbury's part, Max Post made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.
