Basketball Game Preview: Monticello Billies vs. Malvern Leopards

The Monticello Billies will head out on the road to square off against the Malvern Leopards at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Monticello has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 7.

Last Friday, 2025 welcomed Monticello with a 76-52 loss courtesy of White Hall. While losing is never fun, the Billies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 212th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 68th).

Meanwhile, Malvern ended up a good deal behind Glen Rose last Saturday and lost 38-24. The loss continues a trend for the Leopards in their matchups with the Beavers: they've now lost five in a row.

Malvern's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Monticello, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.
