Softball Recap: Cornerstone Christian Crusaders vs. Hesperia Christian Patriots

Peyton Malatka made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Tamara Ocampo, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

On Hesperia Christian's side, Macy Piorkowski was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and seven unearned) runs off four hits. Piorkowski has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in eight consecutive pitching appearances. Piorkowski was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.
