Softball Game Preview: Guyer Wildcats vs. Mansfield Legacy Broncos

For the second straight game, Guyer will face off against Mansfield Legacy. The Wildcats will challenge the Broncos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Guyer's pitching crew has only allowed 2.3 runs per game this season, so Mansfield Legacy's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Guyer heads in on the heels of a playoff match on Thursday. They fell 5-2 to Mansfield Legacy. The Wildcats' defeat signaled the end of their 14-game winning streak.

For Mansfield Legacy's part, Natalie Moreaux made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Moreaux has posted since back in March. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, Ryleigh Stinson was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Meredith Davidson was another key player, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with two runs.

Mansfield Legacy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 19 of their last 21 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 29-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Guyer, their loss dropped their record down to 26-4.
