Basketball Recap: Cottondale Takes a Loss

Cottondale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Malone Tigers, falling 57-1. The matchup marked the Hornets' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Cottondale's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Malone, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 3-5 record this season.

Cottondale will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Altha at 5:30 p.m. on January 6, 2025. Cottondale is facing Altha at the right time seeing as Altha is stuck on a six-game losing streak. Malone will also get a bit of a break before their next match: they'll face off against Ponce De Leon at 5:03 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
