Basketball Recap: Colquitt County Falls Short of Etowah in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Colquitt County can now relate to. They fell to the Etowah Eagles 46-40. The Packers have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.

Colquitt County's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amira Walters- Smith, who posted 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Amareyia Knighton, who had 12 points and six boards.

Colquitt County's loss dropped their record down to 17-9. As for Etowah, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 21-8 record this season.

Colquitt County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Etowah, they will square off against Buford at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Buford will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Etowah surely won't give up without a fight.
