Softball Game Preview: Mayfield Cardinals vs. Calloway County Lakers

Marshall County hit Calloway County with a four-run fourth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Lakers lost 7-0 to the Marshals. The Lakers have struggled against the Marshals recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Calloway County's defeat dropped their record down to 2-22. As for Mayfield, their loss dropped their record down to 7-13.

Mayfield couldn't quite get it done against Calloway County when the teams last played back in March of 2024 as they fell 5-1. Can the Cardinals avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
