Basketball Game Preview: Augusta Red Devils vs. Guy-Perkins Thunderbirds

The Augusta Red Devils are taking a road trip to square off against the Guy-Perkins Thunderbirds at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Augusta lost 70-50 to Barton on Thursday. The Red Devils have struggled against the Bears recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Guy-Perkins was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They had to suffer through a 78-44 loss at the hands of Mt. Vernon-Enola. While losing is never fun, the Thunderbirds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 288th, while the Warhawks are ranked 85th).

Augusta's defeat dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Guy-Perkins, their loss dropped their record down to 1-12.

Augusta beat Guy-Perkins 50-41 when the teams last played back in December of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Augusta since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
