Recap: West Laurens Raiders vs. Perry Panthers

The West Laurens Raiders fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They secured a 55-51 W over Perry on Friday. That looming 55-51 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for West Laurens yet this season.

Nasire Jones continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 20 points along with six rebounds. That makes it nine consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of West Laurens' points. Another player making a difference was Mark Fordham, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.

West Laurens' win ended a eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-8. As for Perry, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Laurens won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Dublin at 6:30 p.m. on January 6th.
