Baseball Recap: Schoharie Storm vs. Galway Golden Eagles

Schoharie had to endure a five-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against the Galway Golden Eagles by a score of 6-1 on Tuesday. The victory was just what Schoharie needed coming off of an 11-2 defeat in their prior matchup.

Eddison Wayman Bender was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single hit, only one earned run while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Wayman Bender was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Lawrence Zeufle was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while going 2-for-3.

The win got Schoharie back to even at 1-1. As for Galway, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Schoharie has the luxury of staying home for another game and will welcome Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Galway will take on Notre Dame Bishop Gibbons at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
