The Alexandria Valley Cubs will head out on the road to  square off against  the Hokes Bluff Eagles  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Alexandria is headed in fresh off scoring the most  points they have   all season. They breezed past Sardis to the tune of  51-13 on Friday. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Valley Cubs' considerable advantage  in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings (they are ranked 112th, while the Lions are ranked 227th).
Hokes Bluff never got on the board in their matchup last Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Glencoe on Friday. They claimed a resounding  49-21 win over the Yellowjackets. That looming  49-21 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Eagles yet this  season.
Alexandria better keep an eye on  Bryce Whitaker. He was instrumental in Hokes Bluff's win, rushing for 254 yards and four  scores while picking up 13.4 yards per carry, and also throwing for 41 yards and one  TD.
 Hokes Bluff was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 295  rushing yards. That's the most  rushing yards they've managed all season.
 Alexandria pushed their record up to 4-1 with the  victory, which was their seventh straight  at home dating back to last season.
