Baseball Game Preview: Pacifica Mariners vs. Canyon Comanches

The Pacifica Mariners will head out to face off against the Canyon Comanches at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Canyon took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Pacifica, who comes in off a win.

Canyon will be up against a hot Pacifica squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Mariners came out on top against Torrance by a score of 4-1 on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Canyon started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Esperanza. They took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Aztecs on Tuesday.

Canyon saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was John Somerndike, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base. Sam Nedelkow also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Pacifica's win bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Canyon, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-10.

Pacifica couldn't quite get it done against Canyon in their previous meeting back in March as they fell 4-0. Can the Mariners avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
