Baseball Recap: Umatilla Comes Up Short

Umatilla's last matchup with Vale could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Friday. Umatilla came up short against Vale, falling 10-4. If Umatilla was looking for revenge after losing 9-7 to Vale when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Carter Monahan was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Umatilla and nudges their season record down to 8-4. As for Vale, they pushed their record up to 7-7 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Vale beat Umatilla by a score of 12-1 later that day.
