Volleyball Recap: Glendale Cardinals vs. Independence Patriots

Glendale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the Independence Patriots. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in September.

Glendale started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-20, 25-22, 25-14.

Serenity Ortiz paced Glendale's offense, picking up four kills. Ortiz got some help from Anabel Arriaga and her six assists. Leslie Klempay Reyes controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Glendale's defeat dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Independence, they pushed their record up to 8-19 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Glendale wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 1-0 loss against Washington on the 23rd. As for Independence, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Copper Canyon on the 27th.
